![]() I just wanted to make it known to anyone before going to the site, in case they think similarly to how I do (I've noticed some of them on this forum).Īfter fiddling with the free ones a bit, all I can say is that they are OK for free.Īnd not sure they are that good an advert for either the "full" Spitfire stuff or indeed their new player.Īh, well - I will hang onto them till my next annual plugin cull I guess. I don't want plugins "calling home" to check for updates or doing anything else (data mining etc.)Īny time I get wind of something like this, I just avoid it. So that leaves me wondering "why this extra software". They might say it's so that it reminds you of updates etc., but that can be done with their mailing list (and you're making an account in the first place to download the software, so that's taken care of). First, they make you get an account just to download it, so they've covered that base already. If this is a free VST plugin, it shouldn't need that extra software for downloading it. I don't like "extra software" installed for no necessary reason, since the reason might then be "possibly a reason you'd not appreciate". I decided to not install their software so I don't know what it does.
